Keeping Sane Through Books
Books to the ceiling,
Books to the sky,
My pile of books is a mile high.
How I love them! How I need them!
I'll have a long beard by the time I read them.

Keeping Sane
So despite having gone through nearly my entire first year of college I have still managed to keep a book on my pseudo-nightstand which simply appalls everybody I talk to about what I’m reading. When I inform them the book I’m talking about is a “fun” read the response is nearly, almost always, “I don’t have time to read for fun.”
Well I thought about it and I feel like if all I did was reading for classes then I would go insane. My fun reading keeps me grounded and gives me something to do that feels more productive than most of my other procrastination tactics.
And to those people who say they have no time to read in college I say this: take 20-30 minutes a day that you spend on Facebook/tumblr/messing around on the internet or sitting around doing absolutely nothing, and read a few chapters in a book. You can get through it really fast if you make an effort.
I have to admit that the idea for this tumblelog comes from discovering and reading all the reviews from 52Books tonight because I have no other life. But I plan to use this to share quotes from whatever book I may be reading (currently East of Eden by John Steinbeck) and to give my overall impressions.
I hope you enjoy!
